Ata Baechler
Ata Baechler, now a renowned teacher, has devoted much of his life to the study of traditional Thai massage with the top schools and the greatest Thai masters, such as Adjan Pichet Bontumee, Mama Lek and Kom Thanee Boonsom.
“The well-being that I gained when I first discovered Thai massage paved the way for my entire future development as a therapist. I travelled to Thailand to find the source of this ancient art.”
Alongside his area of special interest, Ata Baechler has spent a number of years pursuing his personal approach to Yoga. His path has crossed with that of a great master, Sri Dharma Mittra, a teacher at the Kailashananda Temple in New York. He undertook comprehensive training there and subsequently perfected his technique in California and later in Kerala, India.
“The yoga which I teach is known as hatha yoga. It is based on the 12 Sivananda postures linked in vinyasa sequences.”
Ata Baechler teaches meditation, a state of being which he believes is conducive to the attainment of deep relaxation.
“It is through yoga that I discovered meditation and pranayama and its benefits. I have been to monasteries in Thailand to take part in silent retreats as part of monastic life.”
